Ryan is a fry cook at a seafood restaurant. He has a hail mary retirement plan. No house. No savings. Currently looking for a van he may decide to sleep in.

He holds a doctorate in the philosophy of curiosity and learning and has spent a lifetime obsessed with education, researching how humans actually change through learning, and pursuing the question that wouldn't leave him alone: why does devastation arrive and life keeps going, as if nothing essential happened?

The solo show is his attempt to answer that. The podcast is how he does the research. The fry cooking is how he's learning to hold his character lightly, hang out with really cool chefs, and remind himself what it's like to fall asleep after a long shift done well.

He is building something that matters to him in public. This website is part of that process.
